PRIVACY POLICY

How we collect, use and protect personal information — including information about children. Written to be read, not skimmed past.

EFFECTIVE 25 AUGUST 2026  ·  VERSION 1.1

The short version. We collect the minimum we need. We do not collect your child's name or date of birth when you register your interest — only an age group. We never sell your information, never share it for anyone else's marketing, and you can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing privacy@skywardallstars.com.

Protecting children is the highest priority in everything Skyward does. That includes their information.

1. Who we are

This policy applies to Skyward Pty Ltd, trading as Skyward Allstars ("Skyward", "we", "us"), and to this website and any forms, emails or communications we run.

Skyward Allstars is a competitive all-star cheerleading program in development for Sydney's Lower North Shore. We are not yet operating a facility or delivering programs.

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). We have chosen to apply those principles in full, and to write this policy to that standard, rather than rely on any exemption available to smaller businesses.

2. What we collect

Right now, the only information we collect is what you give us through the interest registration form on this site.

What we ask forWhy
Parent or guardian nameSo we know who we're speaking with.
Email addressTo send you the updates you asked for.
Mobile number (optional)Only used if something is time-sensitive, such as a tryout date. You can leave it blank.
PostcodeTo understand where interested families live, so we can choose a location and set training times that work.
Athlete age groupTo plan how many teams we need at each level. We ask for a bracket, not a birthday.
Current experience levelTo plan the right mix of beginner and advanced squads.
Preferred training nightsTo build a timetable around the families who join.
Fee expectations and deposit intentTo understand whether the program is viable before anyone commits money to it.

We also automatically receive limited technical information when you visit this site, such as your approximate location and the type of device and browser you are using. See Cookies and analytics.

3. Children's information

This is the part that matters most to us, so we have set it out plainly.

What we do not collect

When you register your interest, we do not ask for and do not want:

The only child-related detail we collect is an age bracket — for example "9–11 (Youth)". On its own, that does not identify anyone.

The form is for parents and guardians

The registration form is intended to be completed by a parent or guardian aged 18 or over. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to register on your behalf. If we become aware that a child has submitted the form without a parent or guardian, we will delete that entry.

If you later enrol

If you go on to take a place with Skyward, we will need more detailed information about your child — including their name, date of birth, emergency contacts, medical and injury information, and photography permissions. That information will be collected separately through a membership agreement, with its own consent process. We will explain exactly what we need and why before we collect any of it, and we will not use it for anything you have not agreed to.

Photography and imagery

We will not publish any photograph or video of a child on this website, on social media, or in any marketing material without specific written permission from a parent or guardian. That permission can be withdrawn at any time. We will never publish a child's full name alongside their image.

Child safety generally

Privacy is one part of child safety, not the whole of it. Before Skyward operates any program, we will hold a full set of child safe policies aligned to the NSW Child Safe Standards, with Working With Children Checks verified for every adult in a child-related role and clear reporting procedures under the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 (NSW) and the NSW Reportable Conduct Scheme. Those documents will be published before we take a single enrolment.

4. Why we collect it

We use the information you give us to:

We report demand information to prospective investors, lenders and landlords only in aggregate, de-identified form — for example, "62 registrations, 41% within 5km". We do not give them your name, your email address or anything that identifies you or your family.

5. Marketing and consent

We will only email you if you have ticked the consent box on the registration form. Every email we send includes a working unsubscribe link and identifies us clearly, as required by the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). If you unsubscribe, we will stop sending marketing emails immediately.

We do not send marketing text messages unless you have separately agreed to receive them.

6. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We do not trade, rent or otherwise disclose it for anyone else's marketing.

We share information only with service providers who help us operate, and only to the extent they need it:

ProviderWhat they handle
Formspree, Inc. Receives and stores submissions from the interest registration form on this site, and notifies us when one arrives.
Microsoft (Microsoft 365) Our email accounts, and the messages we send and receive.
Netlify, Inc. Hosts this website. Netlify does not receive form submissions.
Professional advisers Our accountant or lawyer, where it is necessary and only to the extent required.

If we change or add a provider — for example, moving to a dedicated email marketing platform as the program grows — we will update this list before the change takes effect.

We may also disclose information where we are required to by law, or where it is necessary to prevent a serious threat to a person's life, health or safety — including a threat to the safety of a child.

7. Overseas storage

Some of our service providers are located outside Australia, which means your information may be stored or processed overseas.

Where information is handled overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is treated in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles, including relying on the provider's published privacy and security commitments. You should be aware that a foreign provider may be subject to the laws of the country it operates in, and that we cannot control the operation of those laws.

By registering your interest, you consent to your information being disclosed to and stored by these providers overseas on this basis. If you would prefer not to, email privacy@skywardallstars.com and we will take your details directly instead.

We deliberately keep what leaves Australia to a minimum. The registration form does not collect your child's name, date of birth, image, or any health information — so none of that information is held by an overseas provider at any point.

8. How we protect it

We hold personal information in access-controlled accounts secured with multi-factor authentication. Access is limited to the people who need it. This website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.

No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we can commit to is collecting as little as possible in the first place, which is the most effective protection there is.

9. How long we keep it

We keep your registration information only while it is being used for the purpose you gave it to us.

10. Access, correction and deletion

You can ask us at any time to:

Email privacy@skywardallstars.com. We will respond within 30 days, and there is no charge.

11. Data breaches

If personal information we hold is lost or accessed without authorisation, and it is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify the affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme. Where children's information is involved, we will notify regardless of whether we are strictly required to.

12. Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your information, email privacy@skywardallstars.com and we will acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

13. Cookies and analytics

This site uses only the cookies necessary for it to function. We do not run advertising trackers or build profiles of visitors.

If we later add analytics or advertising tools, we will update this policy and add a cookie notice before doing so.

14. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy as Skyward develops — particularly as we move from registering interest to enrolling athletes, and as Australian privacy law changes. The effective date at the top of this page tells you which version you are reading. If we make a change that materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will email you.
